"At 6 months of age, my heading dog, Jax, was diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) in both shoulder joints. Exhaustive investigation (including X-rays under sedation) confirmed this, and my vet advised that surgery of both shoulders was the only option. I was put off by the cost (involving several thousand dollars), not to mention the invasiveness of the procedure on my otherwise very healthy pup.

However, the situation was dire – Jax was very lame, especially after any sort of exercise. On many occasions he struggled to get up and/or was unable to bear any weight on the worst affected leg.

As I am professionally involved in the agri-nutrients sector I appreciate what can be achieved by harnessing the potential benefits of nutrients. Accordingly, I carried out some desk/internet research and found a great deal of evidence supporting the use of green lipped mussel, glucosamine and chondroitin among other supplements

We are now 3 months into the ‘treatment’ and based on the tremendous improvement there’s every reason for optimism. For the last 8 weeks, Jax has shown no signs of lameness whatsoever. He has returned to full exercise which – as you’d expect from a young heading dog – is very energetic and unrestrained in movement. The symptoms seem to have disappeared completely and I, once again, have a young dog that is the picture of good health. Much to my delight, there has been no relapse of any kind to date.

I will continue with My Beau Bone & Joint Formula on a maintenance basis and will gladly provide another update on his condition in half a year or so.

"I have an Australian Terrier that 3 months ago was in a terrible condition with biting, scratching and taking big patches of hair out of himself. I had him at the vet who didn't seem able to come up with an effective cure.

I had spent a small fortune on vet fees, to no avail. He more or less told me that some dogs have a skin condition that is incurable. I even lifted our carpets and put in wood flooring as some-one told us that there might be some mites in the carpet that were making him allergic. "I started my 12 year old poodle on raw meat, chicken necks, veges and rice as part of a raw diet that I heard about, that was remarkably healthy for dogs, as they were never designed to be eating processed food.
